Thre has been a 216 Squadron Associationonandoff in one guise or another for many years. In the 90's current members where asked to step foward and forma committee sadly this didn't happen. At a Tristar reunions over the years. These discussions culminated at a 216 Sqn re-union, in 2009, where OC 216 requested volunteers to form a committee and resurrect the 216 Squadron Association. Many responses were received from ‘willing' volunteers (although some may say they were ‘pressed men'!) from which a committee was formed and the foundation firmly set in readiness to launch the 216 Squadron Association. Membership is open to all ranks, aircrew and groundcrew alike and includes both current serving and ex-members of 216 Squadron, hopefully capturing not just those of the Tristar era but those of the Valetta, Buccaneer, Comet and all aircraft types associated with 216 Squadron a target that is ambitious but both achievable and worthwhile. Ex/serving members of 216 Squadron can apply for Life Membership at a cost of £21.60 this includes a Certificate of Membership, a 216 Sqn Association pin / lapel badge and the right to vote at the Association AGM.
